Dr. Mohinish Bhatjiwale is the Founder and Managing Trustee of Neurohealth Foundation, a registered charitable NGO working for raising standards of Neurocare in the underprivileged rural and urban populations of India. He believes that the benefits of science must reach the masses. He initiated epilepsy surgery, movement disorder surgery (DBS), stereotaxic surgery, and surgery for chronic pain in a Public Hospital, viz. KEM Hospital, Mumbai, during 1998-2002. He was one of the pioneers who spread micro neurosurgical expertise in the western suburbs of Mumbai. He believes in the practice of incorporating useful therapies for the ultimate benefit of the patient. He has a database of nearly fifty thousand patients with headaches, craniofacial and spinal pain, and neuralgia from all strata of society, treated by him over the years.

He is the Director of Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery at Nanavati Superspeciality Hospital, Vile Parle, Mumbai. He is also connected as a Consultant Neurological and Spine Surgeon with other prominent hospitals in Mumbai such as Navneet Hi-Tech Hospital, Tata Memorial Hospital, Lilavati Hospital, Saifee Hospital, Fortis Raheja Hospital, and BSES Hospital. In addition, he has his private practice at the “Neuroclinic” at Borivali (W). He has over 25 years of experience in neurosurgery, spine surgery, and pain surgery.

He holds an MS in General Surgery and an MCh in Neurosurgery as his main postgraduate qualification. He also completed a Fellowship in Functional Neurosurgery from King’s College Hospital in London. Other hospitals he trained at include KEM Hospital (Mumbai), Tata Memorial Hospital (Mumbai), South Perth Hospital (Australia), and Sir HN Hospital (Mumbai).
